Motherboard Installation
Inserting the motherboard
Now that you've finished adding standoffs it’s time to place the motherboard. Carefully angle the motherboard into the case so that you can slide the motherboard ports into the backplate (1)(2). When the motherboard is correctly positioned you should be able to see the standoffs through the motherboard holes (3). If not, move the motherboard around until you can see them all. Now insert all the screws into the standoffs and you're done. Be careful while doing this because it is easy to drop a screw somewhere. Make sure it is retrieved before you continue. A slightly magnetic screwdriver can be helpful here, and should pose little threat to surrounding components.
Attaching front connectors
The motherboard now needs to be hooked up to the buttons and accessories on the front of the case (1). Usually located on the bottom right of the motherboard should be a bunch of bare pins clustered together (2). If you are having difficulty locating the front connector cluster refer to your manual for specific instructions. Frequently next to the pin cluster there is a very small diagram showing were each plug should go goes (2). If you're having a tough time reading this diagram you motherboard manual will usually have this diagram larger (3). You should have a small bundle of wires coming from the front of the case (4). On the side of these connectors there will be text describing what the connectors are for. For instance, one of these will say something like PWR (M/B Switch in the picture). This should match up to a PWR marking on the diagram of the pins on the motherboard. Now plug each of the small plugs into its corresponding location on the motherboard pin cluster. Sometimes there will be plugs with no spot on the motherboard or visa versa. The only case in which this should be a concern is if your motherboard has a spot for a system speaker, but your case is not equipped with one. This speaker is rarely included in cases anymore, but some motherboards still use them (5). This speaker is an important diagnostic tool if the motherboard is having problems, and you might consider ordering one. Other than the speaker, most of these instances are nothing to worry about.
